Helium Filled Balloons
All you need to know about helium filled balloons.
Helium is a lighter than air gas that makes balloons float. Latex (Rubber) balloons are made from a naturally biodegradable material that will rot away at about the same rate as the leaves from trees. It’s a natural material which means it is non-polluting and safe for most people and animals. Foil (Mylar) balloons are made from a plastic type material that will persist in the environment indefinitely. We wouldn’t recommend that you release them and we urge you to dispose of them responsibly.
Here at Razzamatazz you can buy either type of balloon and the helium to fill them. If you have any queries about any aspect of balloons or helium then please contact us. We will be happy to help. You can also buy fancy dress costumes, accessories and a full range of party supplies.
There are three ways you can get helium filled balloons from us:
Hire a Canister of Gas.
We have 3 different sizes available. The actual canister is supplied on rent for a week along with a safety valve. See the shop pages for details (REF)
Buy a Canister of Gas.
We have a party size canister available that will fill up to 50 x 9” balloons. Remember though, that the bigger the balloons the fewer that the canister will fill. Also remember that consistent sizing is vital. A good tip is to put 2 chairs back to back and use the measured gap netween to size your balloons.
Buy Ready Filled Balloons.
We will sell you 1 single filled balloon or as many as you need. Come in and discuss it or phone in your order and we will have them ready for your collection.
Float times.
The length of time any helium filled balloon will float depends on 2 main factors. How big it is and what it’s made of. 11” latex balloons will last for 14 to 18 hours. 9” latex will last for 8 to 9 hours. Foil balloons will usually last about 3 to 5 days. We can extend the life of helium filled latex balloons with a product called Hi Float, which will give an 11” balloon about 3 to 4 days life.
